Canvas In the Clouds
I sold the sun, reign a'dim the sky
The key to beyond these canvas walls
My imagination, it seemed, had fled to thine
Atop my perch among a sea of thralls
The shifting waves send me adrift on a spine
And in deliring, your soft siren call
Inspires my wings to become sentient, find
A hole in the canvas Ross imitated Fall
In the starless sea I touch the hole and cry
Where dandelion yellows should blossom and crawl
Among this sea where I dither and die
The emptiness of my soul seems quite small
A bird in flight in endless night
Does fly the sky regretting his sight
