Can'T Erase the Past
It caught me by complete surprise
To turn around and be looking into your eyes
Close enough to touch, close enough to kiss
A feeling I'm not so sure I miss
What we had has come and passed
To try and fix would be like trying to mend broken glass
Though once again it may be whole
The cracks and breaks are bound to show
Some things are better left in the past
Cuz not everything is meant to last
Tears were dried, smiles shared
Once upon a time it was obvious we both cared
But somewhere along the way
From then until that October day
We let the love we once felt fade
And yet every picture and memory made
After all this time I've held onto
Cuz every now and then I still think of you
And I know you're holding someone new
There's a new man in my life too
But he can't erase what used to be
Or how much you once meant to me
It's funny how one place, one song
Can make you wonder if here is where you belong
After all you've been here before
So sure after this there'd be no more
Love is found and love is lost
And the pain you bare you bare is quite the cost
