Canopy Watching Over Me

I look up and what do I see
I wish you were right there above me.
I miss you sleeping with me
I miss you holding me close
Now I take all that I have
because it's the only thing I have near.
Part of me wants to rush
the other wants to make sure it's right
I just don't want to do this all over again
We work so hard
and come so far.
Here's the turning point
that could turn into a lifetime.
I envision you here as my only hope
as I cry sleeping on your chest tonight.
