Candles

CANDLES A candle can represent a particular occasion, It may reflect emotions, whether you’re happy or blue, Besides symbolizing how you feel, They can be quite practical too. Candles are not just a lump of wax, Some can be a work of art, to be lit with a flame, There’s an endless variety of shapes and sizes, So, not all candles are made the same. Candles have been around since the Egyptians, For more than 3 thousand years, And contrary to popular myth, you can’t make them, from the wax inside of your ears. A birthday cake can have any number of candles, You make a wish, and then you blow them out, A Chanukah Menorah will have a maximum of 9, But according to tradition, you just let them burn out. On a sadder note, a memorial candle, Will represent the memory of someone who passed, But the very fact that this candle was lit, Is a testament that the memory of this person will last. Candles are always a great gift idea, They can add elegance to any room, But watch out for those strongly scented ones, Or else you might just choke from the fumes. You never know when your power will go out, These things always occur unplanned, So it’s wise to go to the store and stock up, To have an ample supply of candles on hand. Just one word of caution, I believe that safety is the rule, Don’t leave lit candles unattended, That would most definitely, not be cool.
