Cancer of My Soul

My soul's sovereign Physician finally gave the verdict Revealing His truth-sealed righteousness-stamped diagnosis: I'm afflicted with loathsome sin-cancer He did predict. Stinking with hypocrisy's denial, I clung to healing divine Smiting pride's virus with His compassionate “You’re mine.” I desperately needed His saving, cleansing blood for glorious prognosis. Midst grievous terminal stage of soul-debility God, life's Source, reached down to me with His wondrous love Restoring, reviving me by His forgiveness-bounty. Receiving His life eternal grant thru faith's engagement I'm freed from death-hell's wages of sin-cancer's indictment Re-created to serve, exalting Christ*, heavenly above.
*2Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. December 31, 2018 2nd place, "Rhyme Time 7- Deep and Dark" Poetry Contest Sponsored by Lu Loo; judged on 1/14/2019.
