Cancer Hope

Her curly hair was long and bright Until that sad and scary night The cancer took it all away Leaving her sick night and day Doctors, IV’s, get well drugs Kisses, wishes and tight hugs Are taking over her life now Wishing that one day somehow Her life will be normal again Going out with all her friends Having fun, not being sick Searching for a secret trick That cures every boy and girl Ending pain across the world Caused by all this bad disease She prays can someone help us please

This sad, but hopeful poem starts with an 8 count and ends with an 8. Between is what we all hope for cancer victims, expressed elegantly. I would, if the author would be inclined, like to see more of this little girl, portrayal, like you started in the first line...excellent.

this piece will be remembered by the ones for whom it was writen. cancer is a reminder of our mortality and that we have a chance to reach out to god.
