Can Yams
Next to the can of spam sits the forgotten can yams
Survived Thanksgiving and Christmas too
what should we now do with you
Use it for a paper weight
hide it behind the Christmas plate
Donate it to the food drive
prep it so our future survives
Start a new tradition on the Fourth of July
eat can yams with American pride
Sneak it on to the weekly menu
proclaim can yams hot on the venue
or ignore and pretend we don't see
place it in front of the can of black eye peas
