Can the Night Be Silent

Silent night, holy night,
Can all be calm if all is not bright?
If no one can smile,
Not even the virgin mother and child?
And for the holy child so tender and mild,
There is no sleep in heavenly peace.
When there is no peace for those who can’t see.
No sleep in heavenly peace,
While the world continues to weep.
