Can I Be?

I want to be open enough
To receive all that you have to offer
To make love to your entire being
Until even your soul is like
A molten ball of euphoric flesh
Mixing every flavor of you
Savoring your essence
Leaving an aroma akin to worship
Even creation pays attention
FEAR – false evidence appearing real
I recite it over and over
Mentally feeling my past hurt
Disappointment, mistrust
Stabbing at my present
Longing for your touch
Craving your kisses
Pushing the idea of your femininity
Wrapped around my masculinity
Back into Pandora’s Box
“Don’t think that! Don’t be in a hurry!”
The Rules of Love twist and turn in my head!
Repeat Replay Rephrase Restate
Why is love always a GAME?
Why can’t I just be who I am?
Eager to love
Eager to please
Venereal, erotic, funny, passionate
Easily read, easily attached
Easy to love, spoiled to the core
Maybe...I’m just in love with the idea of being in love?
