Calm Paradise
Along what once was warm and soft is cold,
My toes are being buried as I walk.
I see the blackened sky and stars so bold,
No one here talking, not even seaguls squawk.
The crash and boom of waves onto the sand,
The sound echoes through the entire beach.
Without people, the beach just looks so bland.
Along the beach sand sticks like a leech.
The salty air is sticking in my hair,
Seashells that have washed up sitting near my feet.
Everything is beautiful, no compare.
So much to look at, so I take a seat.
I watch the ocean and the stars and think,
This will all be in the past in just a blink.
