Calm As a Duck

twin city-house shakes
gouging to prepare for new road
         shovel lifts the earth -
         in a row with their mother
ducklings waddle past window

I had to really think about this; for some reason the first line brought the twin towers and the condo in Florida into my mind.

Wow! That is why I so enjoy comments! Some times other thoughts come. Truly this was taking in place in front of my son’s home when I brought them home to Minnesota. There was no going anywhere. The house was vibrating all day and yes I teuly thought about the condo building. Minnesota has the twin-cities. Interesting though that the condo likewise had two buildings.
