Notes About The Poem

Calls My Angel Home

Calls My Angel Home

If heaven calls all angels home
then how am I to know?
When it's time for leaving me
when it's time for you to go?

And where am I to turn to look
when looking for Gods grace?
If I can't simply turn to see
the smile on your face?

How am I to stay behind
and where is it I should roam?
If heaven should decide today
to call my angel home?

How can I say the things unsaid
it's seems so little time.
Every new day seems to bring
a mountain I've yet to climb.

Pulled so many different ways
to do so many things.
Who am I to ask of God
to deny your angels wings?

Instead I think I'll take today
and find some way to start.
To share with you what's on my mind
and in my soul, my heart.

In case tomorrow I should find
I'm left here all alone.
Because the time has finally come
heaven calls my angel home.

You'll know when you gently reach over to touch her and she's stiff like a rock....
