Callings

Some are called to preach or teach
Others, those in need they reach.
A few, great eloquence of speech,
One, is holy, none can breach.

Some are called to full surrender
Others, sacrifice is rendered.
A few, a costly price is tendered
One, to me, gives love its splendor.

Some are called to lead a nation
Others, serve a single station.
A few, know God in low prostration
One, gives mercy full translation.

Some are called to fatherhood
Others, to a common good.
A few, His grace is understood
One, fulfills as none else could.

Some skim the fringe of sacrifice
Others, feel the edges slice.
A few, the severance of a life
One, for you, paid sin's price.

Hello Tom, There’s such a solemn beauty in the way you trace all these different callings back to the One that gives them meaning. A steady, reverent piece. Winter Blessings, Tom Daniel

Especially, that third verse is meaningful… a few know God in low prostration! Well done, Poet! God bless you!
