Calling Out to the Full Moon
Show me perfection
Show me beauty
Show me the world I foolishly promised you
Color the sky red
Color my sight red
Redefine crimson to my brain forevermore
Change me forever
Change me irrevocably
Make me forget I'm no longer young
Burn down society
Burn down this city
Make the world I see alter forevermore
Where are you, Heaven?
Why do endless gray clouds obscure you from my sight?
Come tell me, Heaven
Where the future you and I both saw burned to ash and salty soil
Where did you go?
Did the endless expanse call you as home called me?
Where did you go?
Are you drifting as peacefully as we both dreamed?
Where do you roam?
Did the revelation hurt you like it hurt me?
Where do you roam?
Do you loathe the feel of tile beneath your feet?
Leave me a sign
Scar the rainy skies like you would do before
Leave me a sign
Take the endless soil beneath us and reveal its beating core
This rum still tastes as sweet as your name
Spilling from my lips like liquid flame
I still see you in the starry sky
In the full moon that demands my eye
I see your shadow dancing behind trees
Your memories lingering like disease
So offer me your hand, skyward god
Let me know that even though I'm flawed
You could still see me.
