I'm sitting here alone
Looking at a cloudless sky 
Hoping that you'll phone
So I can hear your voice, that's why

I love it when you do
Excited, yes indeed
When I see you are calling 
I answer with all speed

My time with you is precious
Regardless how it comes
Below by way of preface
To me you are the one

Who I would like to be with
Each and every day
Though I know it's just not practical
And I know there's just no way

So dreams and I are real good friends
They're all I have right now
It's in them I can love you
The way that I'd know how

For all the poems, songs, and such
Are just the intro line
The verses and the chorus come
If ever you are mine
