Call To Spring

Heed my call to spring; Bring out the fair maidens Give them deep red roses; To put on their hats with posies. On with the celebrations; Longer days and more people; Singing and dancing to the music As the sun begins to shine brighter. Congratulations to the animals That awoke from an eternal slumber; To the plain snowy ice fields Now covered in shades of green; The gloomy dark forests Now bathed in colours; The once lonely streets Now filled with laughter and playing children; The once dead bushes Now in full bloom with flowers. The farmers start spreading seeds, For the next season's harvest needs. Mother and fathers working together, To make new plans for better weather. Brother and sisters that fought Run out with hopes of forgiveness. Everyone who heed my call; Come one come all; Celebrate the arrival of spring with us; In our small town, as we sing and dance.
