Cagey Canary

The canary sat atop his cage,
And thought to himself, I got you Paige!
While Paige sat trapped in tight,
Thinking about the fight,
And plotting to kill in angry rage.

Dear Jennifer, Your poem is clever and intriguing with a twist of dark humor. The juxtaposition of the canary's apparent triumph and Paige's simmering anger creates a compelling narrative. I love how the poem's brevity adds to its impact, leaving readers both amused and contemplative. Well done on crafting such an engaging piece! - Blessings, Daniel
