Caged

you can enslave me
with your soft laments
those decrepit enchantments
that hold there weight
in the provinces
of righteousness -

do you find it mad
that I would welcome
 such veiling darkness
that I would insist
in its treachery-

assume nothing of me
that you could understand
that I would ultimately invite
such a warming invitation
that I would grant access
by what cannot
be yoked
