Cactus Flower

Rare desert jewel, you flower with ease among those many thorny leaves your fearless petals open wide to touch the sun up in the sky. Your beauty mocks your prickly cage entrapped within its imprisoned stage how brief your budding glory shines a resplendent bloom with lovely lines. So bold, you awake the desert scene with brilliant colors unforeseen a floral enchantress, that you are a mesmerizing wild star. Written on 3/29/2017

Love this finely painted piece my friend. Did you know it is well known that a person will only ever sit on a cactus just once! Seems once is enough to get the--point! lol Exceptional verses my friend.. A7

- A beauty, Laura - No cactus survives in the wild in Norway ... Only in the window frame ... but rarely blooms - hugs // Anne-Lise :)

Your poem is simply enchanting Laura! It seems to take cactus a very long time to bloom, but when they do your eyes are in for a fabulous treat. I remember this one cactus I bought a long time ago that they assured me would bloom. I waited and waited....no bloom. I got to the point where every time I look at it I was scolding it, saying "why don't you bloom"! Then on my birthday, I went to water it and it had bloomed! I felt like such a brat. It was my best gift! 7 ; )
