Cabin Fever

Can't go out
Weather won't permit
Too cold, too wet, too slippy
Dressed up warm
I clean and cook
And wash and iron and polish
Listen to the radio
Despair at the news
Hum to the music
Escape from the world
Enter boredom
Slowly at first
Then snaking into the psyche
Banging with frustration
Screaming at the world
I wan't to explode

Hi Liz. Thanks for the visit. . I am this. Work is scarce so have to find things to fill the day. Thank God for the writing. Decided to organise all my poetry and was amazed to find that I had written 35,000 words, (mostly crap). Yes cabin fever is a self propagating condition. Can be cured with a bottle or two of wine. Great idea and write. happy New Year to you all also. Eamon

I guess we're both having bad weather today, Liz, and it's not much fun staying inside. Maybe it is time to catch up on some housework. Take care, Diane

You had me laughing, Liz, because my house is never cleaner than it is when the weather's bad. Can REALLY relate to the frustration of "Cabin Fever"! Love it! Carolyn
