C Y N O S U R E

When you cried for the first time,
I was the happiest mom on earth,
A precious gift from God -
That was my thought at your birth.

My daughter, I held you in arms,
And received your feather touch,
My heart filled with love for you,
And insanely kissed you so much.

Your first smile, your first steps,
Brought great joy and happiness,
Your first words that you spoke,
Some were funny and meaningless.

My cynosure, my lucky charm,
Your laugh takes my worries away,
I relive my childhood with you,
God keep you safe, I always pray.

You make my world so beautiful,
I am blessed to watch you grow,
Special memories I shall treasure,
Soon you will leave my nest and go.

Such a lovely poem about your sweet daughter, Meenakshi...surely the 'cynosure' of your life. Congratulations on your placement in this Premiere contest. Hugs, Sandra
