It's New Years Eve
A closing door
To the passing year
Of '24
The year was hard
And left me blue
I wish adieu, adieu to you
And on the cusp of '25
We made it through
I'm gratified!

The sun near setting on this day
Another year passes away
Another stands waiting in line
Oh, dawn in promise sure and fine
Ever, ever humanity's hope
To grasp and reach in which to cope
I do not believe that hope is dead
I'll pray for love and peace instead
