By Your Side
As the time flies ever so fast,
You and I know our friendship will last
As the sun announces the arrival of dawn,
The clock of precious existence is forced to tick on
When the stars gently twinkle in the sky,
Lighting up our canvas of unremitting life,
The earth will uncover the iridescent sea
Revealing a smooth pathway for you and me
But if the earth and its inhabitants spit us out,
We still have the universe to ourselves, no doubt!
There is nothing anyone can possibly do
To tear me away from the likes of you
Unless of course you request some space,
I’ll stay on hold and patiently wait
No matter where you go, name it; here or there
No matter how far, I will surely be there
So lastly, at the conclusion of this letter,
I wish upon you happy years to come, forever
For until that clock decides to end its chime
You can be sure to find me by your side
Always,
