By Starlight's Gleam

In visions that by starlight’s gleam revealed
I dreamt I felt my love’s own tender kiss
As it’s my slumber yearnings took me there
This desire that refuses to be concealed
Each night it stretches o’er my heart’s abyss
To fill the hunger my love and I share.
And in those hours we should be at our rest
On my breast droops her pale flower-like cheek
The scent of hair intoxicates my mind
Empowered, my lips seek to meet her test
We know our love can ne’er be mild nor meek
As in heated dreams, it is ours to find.
I lift my voice to make a humbled plea
As lost tears dissolve into destiny
