By Moonlight

Moonlight so bright he felt It should Have cast shadows on her skin As she walked naked to the pool And slid gracefully in. Scarcely a ripple on the surface As it enfolded her skin Parted to allow her progress as Each arm stroke thrust in. A pagan water nymph Under the light of the moon A performance that sadly All over too soon. Robed and concealed She towelled flowing hair Unconscious of the fact Anybody else had been there. One last look at the pool Then pulling her robe tight Walked into the house And inside for the night, Innocent of the fact She’d been on display. The Watcher, the show over Slipped carefully and quietly away An unplanned walk On a moonlit summer night Giving the watcher Brief, unexpected delight. The rippless pool, flat and still Glistened, shimmered and shone Until a passing cloud drifted in And the moon for a while was gone

I enjoyed your moonlight walk Terry. Beautifully penned, quiet and serene, and without a ripple save the water parting to allow her progress, NOW THATS POETRY. So well done.
