Buy Me Blind
When you and him would argue you tried to buy me blind. You'd take me and my brother
out to the movies and the arcade. Buy me a new video game or new doll just so I could forget
the yelling and the shouting. I have to admit when I was young it was fun... you spent more
money those days than you would spend if everything was fine. I had so much fun those nights
too it was a lot of quality time that was really overdue. I don't know what made you do it. You
worked most of the time so I didn't get to see you... but whenever the arguements began we
were like best friends. It was a secret code between you and me... after a new toy you would
give me a look... a look that always meant where not going to mention this again. I understood I
wasn't dumb. I just wish sometimes she would've confided in me her problems instead of trying
to buy me blind. Cause truthfully I didn't forget. After I had played with the toy and had a good
nights sleep I would wake up a little less innocent than the day before. A little less forgiving.
