Butterfly Wings

Take a moment,
think about the
 life of a butterfly.
It takes flight but
when the wind blows,
it flows the wind's whim.
Struggling against
breezy gale winds
Its uniqueness unmatched
 in the animal kingdom
yet their larvae appear
hideous.
Some caterpillars resemble
Persian rug patterns
but most are grotesque
until a time of life's choosing.
It springs forth in
glorious wonder
spreading its wings
across sunlit skies
with dandelions, violets
and cattails bending
at their elbows below.
Going wherever the wind blows
Taking it wherever
beauty goes to reset
Imagintion's womb...

Sometimes the ugliest situations
 create the most beautiful things.
