Butterfly Sonnet
Oh gentle and harmless creature with wings!
Didst thou the most delightful message bring,
or didst thou the wordless serenade sing?
Thou pleasant kisser whose touch never stings;
angelic in flight, just like a fairy.
Manoeuvring wings that constantly merry.
Thou watchest the calm and summer gardens,
and with thy tender touch no petal hardens.
Thy flight comes with its attendant sweetness
in an air of atmospheric freshness.
Thou art no doubt a messenger of peace.
Can thy seasoned etiquette ever cease,
or even thy flight of life and Goodwill?
Without thee, no one could eat to their fill.
