Butterfly Lesson Ii - Win

One gets bored with the daily routine
So he craves for beauty and excitement.
Fire is beautiful and its beauty kills.
But then why one should care to be killed?
If it gives happiness for a moment.
Better to burn up for beauty
Then to have a long bored life
That is what life is for.
It is better to be a part of beauty
and then cease to exist than to exist forever
and never be a part of beauty.
Hence be a butterfly and not the flame.

Butterflies are not as civilized as men
Who needs half happiness
And twice the longevity.
I learn lesson from butterflies
Flirting happily around,
Not settling down anywhere for long.
Go for full happiness and not longevity.

Smooth and slowing with with simple yet profound message, doc. Just imagine if butterflies were civilized just for a moment? Hmmmm....scary thot to see them organizing their business amongst the busy bees.....ha ha. Much enjoyed your poem this morning. Very much enjoyed! Gwendolen

Excellent thought! I said the same thing in my poem 'The Butterfly' and touched on it with my poem 'Fear of Flight' . I've only read two of your poems so far, but I believe we may be of kindred souls.
