Butterfly Kisses Into Bite Marks
You,
feral beauty
a tempest raging.
You are,
castles in the sky
crashing over oceans of me.
You are loved,
worshiped by everything that I am
wilder than the beasts raging within me.
Always busy with nobody
while I turned to ashes.
"What's the use of a pretty face
if it's rotting in the ground," they'd say.
So I knew death had come for me when
your ocean eyes turned into Tsunamis and
your butterfly kisses turned into bite marks.
As I realized
All you ever said to me
Was a lie
You left me
Hurt
In pain
Alone
Confused
As all your butterfly kisses turned into bite marks
And crimson red stained my skin like a tattoo
All my happy thoughts flew away
Like ash from a bonfire flying up into oblivious
And as you burned my skin, trailing your fingers along my throat
I knew this was the end of our days, together at least
You'll leave me in a broken mess on the floor to pick up my own shattered heart
