Butterfly

A stunning butterfly came to land
Right upon my very hand
She fluttered her wings and took a stand
Majestic colors looking so grand
She left my hand for a beautiful flower
I watched her flicker for nearly an hour

The freedom to be is what appeals to me
Freedom to flutter and flicker from here to there
She flies so softly in the mid summer air
She reminded me that though we are apart
You shall always live deep in my heart.

I send you butterfly kisses filled with love
I send them through to the heavens above
Our time together was quickly undone,
Though it seems it had only just begun
I will treasure those moments
And take solace in watching the butterflies
Flutter and flicker in the mid summer skies

simply charming Carmen - I adore butterfly poems - the imagery is very beautiful but tinged with sadness:-) Hugs Jan xx
