Butterfly

Who knew a butterfly could bite? Can lift up high, make you satisfied To fall down and call all this inner strife? Who knew it could be so beautiful? A glimmering blue, a contrast in the night Changing colors with the angles, Never always bright Never constant. Who knew it could stab so hard? Like your life just fell apart And there’s no where to start Does the butterfly deceive? Is it wrong, what my eyes perceive? I see it closer And it hurts so bad, Lifting me up And making me sad Why is the butterfly running away? I knew it made me sad, But it also made me glad. My hand extends to grab it, Why is it flying away? Maybe it’s better If it’s not here to stay
