Butterflies, Butterflies
Playing way in grandmas pungent garden green,
Amidst sprays of scarlet marigolds and in between.
Just above me. Ah, far enough they come from.
Too high for me to reach and try to catch them.
Caterpillars turned into colorful butterflies,
Fluttering in graceful group in periwinkle skies.
My body holding me up guiding me aright,
Trying hard to catch; I hold very still in delight.
I stretch to play as they scatter and fly away.
Round, round, up, and down still with me they stay.
Oh, butterflies, can't be afraid. I mean you, no harm.
They flutter, come quite close, one lights on my arm.
It tickled as it's wings slowly goes up and down.
It didn't stay long; I didn't know if to smile or frown.
Butterflies, butterflies swarm; all different colors
Across the garden of marigolds with all the others.
