Butterflies and Dragonflies
Butterflies and dragonflies flutters in daze,
all around, remaining oblivious to the maze !
Their little world of nectar, pollen and flowers,
giving more than it takes as it squats and hovers !
Seem to know about seasons and weather -
well enough, to swarm hither and thither !
In its own little world in its own little space,
carving a niche, knowing it's in no mad-race.
Minding its own world and mind only for that,
but, when the man came - it lost out in the spat !
On the highways and on the black floor,
many a collision - showed them their final door.
Those speeding machines, so huge and heavy,
by which many a life, as toll, 'O' man you levy !
Right to life for all - only verbally so, a tall claim,
man continues to contrive with hit and run maim.
Inclusive life - for all form and species to live,
Consuming little, very many ways to just give;
Everyone in place with each one in its space,
Greed - this rate, will evict them - leaving no trace !
Oh man - oh man, in your speed crazy world,
putting lives at your whip, many miseries untold;
Razed many a forest and dug many a mine,
shunting lives out at your whim, thinking all is fine!
Days not far, you'll realise, this dig is for human race -
permanent a grave for sure at this mindless pace.
Volitional stake, a place so high in evolution,
but what is gleaned - a sense of utter commotion !
Is there a way that they intrude - would like to know ?
Pray tell the way, if they do - into your grand show.
Decay and rot in time, a part of their ephemeral life,
prefer it in nature's course, and not with such strife!
