But I Have a Dad

I had a father once...
I don't have a father now !
But
I do have a Dad !

Dad is the man that loves me.
He worries what I do.
He worries where I go.
He tells me when I've done wrong,
and praises me when I've done well.
He laughs at me, he laughs with me.
He takes time from his busy day
to show me he cares about my school project
and my new friend.
He kisses away my scraped knee pain.
He kisses me goodbye when he leaves.
He hugs me when I come back from camp.
My Dad is always here for me.
My DAD, not my father,
means the world to me.

If you don't have a father
I hope you have a Dad.
He may not be a relative.
He may be new to your family,
Or perhaps your best friend's Dad.
No matter, if he cares for your safety
and he respects you like you do him,
Then, YOU HAVE A DAD TOO
