But First

I always take my meds first.
Before going out.
So that I don’t see any “signs.”
The only sign is for the bathroom.
And it’s not going to hurt me.
I shouldn’t hide in the bathroom either.
The checkout line is long and treacherous.
Five potatoes in my bag.
I want to go home.
I drop my car keys, everything is shaking.
Pills rattling.
But first,
Meds always come first.

Indeed, the meds must come first. Words to live by. Thanks for sharing.
