Business Competitors

Our competition do lot more for us than friends, They teach us all the market trends. Friends are too polite to point our weakness, All learning comes from the competitions sleekness. Going to the extent of advertising our faults, Doing hard sell acrobatics and cheap somersaults. Efficient, diligent, attentive and sly, They’re hoping that someday our business will die. They keep us alert and make us search for the way, To improve our quality and services day by day. If not for competition we’d be lazy and careless, Making our endeavours more or less worthless. It’s the discipline that they enforce on us, That ensures we never have to miss that bus. Hats off to them for indirectly being kind, Helping us develop a more alert mind. God bless them all, till that clarion call; Let them imagine they’re having a ball. - Prince Freakasso (Artist & Poet)

I like the rhyming couplet in this real-world narrative poem. The piece brings to life one principle of management and marketing that forces others to do better. The competition will always keep the other side on its toes by thinking that pointing out the faults of others will make them sell more products in a form of reverse psychology; however, you're right, it only makes the other side better. Great job! (Hopefully your daughter is feeling much better). ~Joseph
