Burning Embers

The passion that I had for you
Burned deep into my soul.
The Flames rose high and hot
Never growing cold.

Over the years we always had
Lots of love and joy,
We made the circle complete
With a little girl and boy.

Time went by and all seemed well
But I noticed something wrong,
You were not acting the same
And it had been going on too long.

You tried to laugh it off
But soon I found you gone
Time and age had taken you
We buried you at dawn.

The passion that I have for you
Is now just burning embers,
But when I see you again,
They will flame high and hot
..........Just like we remember.
