Cold snow covered all tombs and lanes, Still he strewed the coffin with sprays of flowers, to lessen his pains. He uttered a few words of praise. But snow showers Buried flowers. He recited poetic strains Could only look down in a daze. Hot tears fell upon her remains Yet snow veiled all in a cold haze, Irked and harried, All sprays buried.

I can feel his grief, the sorrow of one made companion less. But there is no pain, time cannot erase. This winter scene tugs at my heart.

Sad hearted words Victor, though the sprays were buried beneath the snow showers, all that matters is that he gave her flowers… Hugs, Belle

Very expressive and emotive work. It would be hard to have to bury one's love or close family in the dead of winter where there was snow. Enjoyed reading your work. Thanks for dropping by my page. Sara

"Don't cry for me" she whispered, Though he heard it as a breeze "The snows of earth will surely melt, on grass, on grave and tree's." Within his cloud of witnesses, they urged him, "Victor; onward gaze, the Son of God is shining past this world's vapored haze." He heard it as a brush of wind across this gloomy place, as snowflakes melted, merged with tears, fell down his sorrowed face. Home again and lonely, He wrote a poem to share, his friends began to read it, lifting him in prayer. ~B.J.
