Building Palace of Cards

Dreams bloomed in the desiccated dunes
as golden sun masked the mirage he chased
to take the parched life to the lavish oasis,
ended up in the gambling dens of illusion,
lost the dreams building the palace of cards
that collapsed on the desert dust of destiny.

A rootless vagabond adrift from the wasteland
turns into a lone player of the puppet show,
performing to the dictum of stringed freedom,
he now enjoys the game of the solitary life,
perfected by patience his passion has taught
to dance to the symphony of the sated soul.
