Bugs And Me

Weird beetles with stripes.
Spiders puffed up.
In the kitchen.
Insects.

Ladybugs don’t usually do much.
Except enjoy the cookies in the pantry.
I don’t know if it’s my imagination.
But spiderwebs are breathing.

Surrounded by these bugs.
While making pastries in my kitchen.
Go the living room.
Where grasshoppers live too.

The bedroom is lit up with centipedes.
So I leave the light off.
I don’t do much anymore.
Since they showed themselves.

We cook things together.
They don’t help, but we are together so it’s us.
Do insects have eyes?
Some do so I leave the lamp on.

Blinking.
They multiply.
So blink, or don’t.
Crumple like the last weevil.

My favorite bug is a butterfly.
So I asked him what he likes to eat.
He laughs and it makes me nervous.
Then gets strangled in the spider web.

I stay up.
Read books covered in spider webs.
Don’t cry if there's insects in your socks.
Just stop wearing socks and you’ll be fine.

They say there’s value in medication.
But some things are exponential.
Flashes of light as if everything is about to explode.
So I try to sleep.

Mom, I’ve been living alone in the apartment for two months.
It doesn’t feel unbearable anymore.
I’m like a beetle who won the lottery.
So I tossed my meds.
