Buggy Buggers

Flutter, flutter, in the sky, Watch the clouds go floating by. See that thing a way up high? Teeny, weeny, butterfly! Crawling, crawling, down and down, Plants and pebbles all around. Queen of all in golden crown, Many ants deep underground! Hurry, scurry, little thieves, Quickly running under leaves. Legs so fast no one believes, See those little centipedes? Round and round the huge red mug, They eat pests, and farmers hug. Those heavy shells these things must lug, A poor, but healthy, Ladybug! Sticky, slimy, never fails, You may find them inside pales. Watch it swerve around those nails, Ooey, gooey, tiny snails. Buggy buggers, bugs galore, You will see them on your floor. Do you want them? Say no more, These little things are NOT a bore!

Hi Elaine, Thank you for the reply. I know what you mean about people caught up in misery and despair. Teeny weeny butterflies are a nice antidote to wallowing. I have done that a bit myself, but I like funny and lighthearted too. By the way, that "bug" pun was entirely inadvertent--I hope you can beelieve me. Cheers, Brian

Hi Elaine, I don't mean to bug you with a question, but can you tell me HOW in the world this delightful, brilliant, enchanting and wonderful poem could go without a single comment for nine years! I absolutely love it, and reread it with glee! 7+

Brian you make me laugh! I don't know, perhaps people don't want to read about bugs? Or, maybe, people are rather caught up in misery and despair and like to wallow there rather than read seemingly pointless verses of wonder and amazement?

Haha I really don't know; this was a random poem that came to me while watching some critters in my grandmother's garden in Greece about 10 years ago :)! At any rate, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
