Bubbles of You
Do you know I'll always remember
driving away that day?
On a sunny Monday in November
when all eyes forecasted rain.
Car running, music playing.
A wise voice inside saying:
hundreds of miles to go
better get the show on the road.
GPS
was all set
and yet
Starbucks was calling,
any excuse for stalling.
A voice inside said
we'll meet again
in bubbles above my head.
Four unexpected friends
like the Sharks and the Jets
were saying goodbye yet again.
Hug you twice and we're on our way,
its your busy work day
there's something to occupy your mind
bubbles of you will be above our heads on the drive.
Put the car in drive
then glance at the sky,
something I do to remind
me of specific times.
I'll always remember that day
cuz I turned to see you walk away
but you were only feet away from our goodbye
watching me look at you watching us drive...
away.
As soon as you were out of sight
I searched for solace in my mind
and like comforting friends,
bubbles of you floated all around my head.
