Bubble Thoughts from the Circling
Her skill sets though narrow,
are tried and tested,
she has the tools to navigate around reality
without going belly-up.
We share the same fish tank.
She has her own patch of metaphor
and I mine.
She knows nothing of karma
or I of fate.
Occasionally, we swim together
through the same plastic castle,
both observing
a suitably awkward silence.
The great and unknowable Walt Disney
sent us cartoon gnomes
to guide us through the rocky reefs
in our heads.
It was that simple,
though we often wished
that something
more meaningful
was going on.
