Brown Eyed Gem

Flowing streams of silk and satin, Kissed by the scents of lilac and honeysuckle Fall from my fingertips like gossamer webs Soft on my lonely cheek as plush velvet Carvings in white marble from ancient quarries Smoothed by the hands of the all divine artist Seem so angelic to me, so soft and so perfect Are within my grasp, and yet so far from my touch Mysterious stars of dark brown topaz Holding tight a pain I wish I could relieve So many times I wake from dreams of holding beauty And wish she was in my grasp, and wish I was in her heart Words can not describe what God can create Nor can I speak of anything that is quite the same She is more beautiful than I could ever write And that is why she is so vast upon my dreams
