Brown Bottle Blues

Brown Bottle Blues!

It's a funny thing,
that brown bottle with a label can hear,
understand your trouble,
and watch you stumble.
It doesn't care about the tear in your eye or
the fear in your heart,
it just knows it will play its part.

That brown bottle,
which gives you powers to get on that stage
and became an instant Idol with talent,
the power to take on a hundred men,
or be the lover no woman can resist.
This is called lifes .08 twist.

Well the nights over,
the capes gone,
the thought of start'em went wrong,
all went away with that last beer.
Now all that's left is pounding in my head and
the ringing in my ears and
that empty little brown bottle they call a beer.

Good one, Rowdy. An enjoyable read. Growing up, I hated the taste of beer. Until my brother convinced me to try it with pizza. I still like it with Pizza. But, I have to stop with one. I'm silly enough without it.

Rowdy Yates? Seriously? I'm old enough to remember "Rawhide." Yeah, I like this poem, and the pen name gave me a chuckle.
