Brother Billy

You are gone and I am okay. In fact, I wanted it this way. For you, life was a machete. I always wished you to be free. Leaving us for months, sometimes years, made me often spill grieving tears or scream aloud my sibling's plea. I always wished you to be free. I lived with a broken heart stain and thought with an aching brain strain. Was such fated for you and me? I always wished you to be free. Even though due to a health lack, I was glad events brought you back. Three years joined before death took thee. I always wished you to be free.

Sorry to hear CayCay to hear about your brother, but when life is a machete, it may be better to be free.

Heart-rending tribute, CayCay, to a brother who seems to have had little luck in life. Hopefully, now Billy is free!

God gave him a very hard karma and answered my prayers by giving us sibling time, one last time, so I am blessed and he is free. Thanks, Gershon ... CayCay

I was surprised how many you have on the LOVE site. I don't recall a lot of love poems from you, but you have surely written some beautiful ones as I found out last night. It's not just limericks, Sweetie - you are a well-rounded poet who I admire!

Hey, Sweetie. You were always so supportive emotionally towards me about Billy. I doubt you knew he had died, I wasn't on Soup in Oct. 2022. I really am happy that his burdens are gone and he is free. Love ya ... CayCay (your poems are all over Soup's sister websites. Many poets have a few, but you, dear heart, have a slew! Such is deserved.)

Dear CayCay, your poem brought tears to my eyes. Your love for your brother is apparent in these heart-wrenching verses. Death is always viewed to be sad, but for some it may be just freedom. I wish you and your brother solace, and that you can meet in heaven.

That is beautiful, truly. My own brother is overseas and I miss him so much. When the longing gets too much to bear, I like to imagine him holding my hand, and giggling with me to jokes that only make sense to us. Our loved ones may leave but we still have their memories with us, where they will be happy and undeterred by sadness always.

I think you did give us both hugs with your sincere words. Like me, you seem to be an empath, feeling almost everyone's emotions. I am good, truly blessed to have spent time with him. When I miss him a lot, I imagine him running bases, playing ball in heaven while my Dad coaches. They are smiling in the spirit world and playing as they did when bro was a child.

CayCay, I wish I could turn back time and give both you and your brother a hug. Thank you for having the courage to share your story here. We may just be strangers right now but as a fellow human, I offer my sincere condolences. No matter how hard life was for you, I hope you are in a better place now, my friend. Wish the same for your brother. I'm sure he knows how much you love him.

My brother became bi-polar at puberty. Un-diagnosed, he later turned to drugs and spent much of his life in the streets or prison. I hadn't seen him for 14 years when he called from across the USA to say he couldn't survive any longer. I brought him to my home, got him medicated and loved on him for 3 years before he died. I thank God for that time together. I think death is only sad to the living and missing our loved ones is also sad. Thank you for your sweet sentiments. I wrote too much, yes? CayCay
