Broken Thoughts

Dismal, dark and gray,
 watch the clouds roll by.
Thunder quakes,
 lightning snakes.
Not a move is made,
 I am not afraid.
Let the lightning strike me,
my soul shall then be free.
Free from the turmoil all around,
 inside, outside, up and down.
All my wishes, hopes, dreams broken,
yet not a word have I spoken.
I bleed out my tears,
 damaged from all my years.
Dismal, dark and gray,
 not the sky, my day.
