Broken Soul Serenade

Love me, but leave me alone when you see me
Allow me the time and the space I so crave
While others need attention and constant affection
I crave nothing more than calm peace for my soul.

A soul broken man has a mind made of steel
Resembling a veteran, hell hardened from war
Everyone judges me harshly and unfairly
Completely unaware of the obstacles I’ve overcome.

If making mistakes paid even just a penny
I’d be the most wealthy man on this earth
Then I could pay most of my problems away
Living life in a luxury no man’s ever seen

Love me, but show me forgiveness and patience
God knows I’ve seen too much heartache so far
I’m just a man on a mission to find heaven
Hoping hell will ignore me the way people all do.
