Broken Memoirs
Wizened and shriveled,
he was cut down to size-
In disbelief, she lied and he cried
crimson tears from his eyes.
Shackled in a retention cage
healing from a mordacious attack,
knowing her cruelty was contagious
and he would never get her back.
He’d horde all the memoirs,
a cartridge of letters from before-
For he adored her and she discouraged
him into an uproar.
The elicit manner in which she spoke
broke apart his conviction,
her explicit behavior tore his heart
causing nothing but friction.
In the end, he realized he deserved
better than she bestowed,
A best friend wouldn’t patronize,
so those letters he let go.
He began to loiter all day and night
how could he be so naïve?
For he was nothing but her trifle
to her…
leaving him to grieve.
